Sofya specializes in trauma surgery, surgical critical care, and acute care surgery. She has a strong educational background with a medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in general surgery at Cleveland Clinic. She also completed a fellowship in trauma surgery and surgical critical care at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a distinguished alum of the Kellogg School of Management.
Sofya is a founding member of the Greening the Operating Room Committee at Cleveland Clinic. This initiative focuses on reducing energy consumption and waste in operating rooms.
